Michael (or Mario) Querzola was an Italian doll maker active around the 1940s to the 1970s. He founded the company MQ, which specialized in small celluloid and early plastic dolls. They are easily recognizable thanks to their labeling: a diamond-shaped symbol with a tree and the letters MQ, often placed on the back or the back of the head.
MQ dolls come in several sizes, usually between 7-15 cm, and were made with movable arms and legs, and sometimes sleeping eyes. Many were dressed in simple fabrics or traditional folk costumes. The smaller models are ideal for 1:18 scale dollhouses, such as Lundby.
