Ernst Freihoff Papierwarenvertriebsgesellschaft mbH was founded in 1948 in Germany by Ernst Freihoff. The company specialized in the production and distribution of so-called "scrap pictures" or glossies, which are detailed, embossed paper pictures often used for decoration and collection. In the 1960s and 70s, the company expanded its range to include paper items such as clipboard dolls and movie postcards. After the last producer in Germany stopped producing glossy prints in 1983, Ernst Freihoff decided to start his own production, despite being 69 years old at the time. He published a total of 203 different sheets with timeless motifs, including flowers, animals, fairy tales, children, angels, Christmas and Easter motifs. After his death, his children continue the tradition with the same dedication and passion for glossies.
