How do I paint with colors in my scrapbook project?




Painting various details, backgrounds or other things in your work, is both fun and challenging! Here you get a review of the basics you need to know.

We have divided the colors into three categories; Acrylic, Distress-, and Glitter / Shimmer

Acrylic paints belongs to the basic products for most makes scrapbooks and cards. Acrylic paints are easy to use and also adds structure to your projects.

Some examples:
- Try to use acrylic paint with the help of so-called Foam Stamps, available in various designs and sizes. Foam Stamps can easily clean the paint with lukewarm water.

- Try to apply acrylic paint using a duttare. You simply create kretiva patterns and details of your project.

- Do you have old and maybe a little ugly letters in different colors lying? Try to paint them with acrylic paint.

- You can also paint on fabric, ribbons, plastic, etc.

- Use a mask/stencil to create a motif or a backgound structure.

A good and very practical acrylic paint is Ranger Adirondack Paint Dabber, which has a foam applicator which enables you to easily apply the right amount of color. You also avoid batter Manure! You use it to advantage to materials that paper, clay, fabric, wood, metal, glass, cardboard, etc. The paint dried quite quickly to get the paint to the applicator to hold the bottle upside down, push the bottle until you see that the paint will in applikatiorn. Want to work with a brush, then just unscrew the top of the bottle. Foam rubber piece is also replaceable.

We recommend that you keep the bottle upside down. The paint is waterproof, can be combined with different types of ink used for stamping and through masks / stencils.

Distress colors will help you create a vintage look. Tim Holtz and Ranger have jointly developed a series of fantastic products - Distress Paint - that is matched against Tim's distress other products. They are reactive with water in the same manner as Distress Ink and Distress Stain, ideal for a variety of artistic techniques. Another product is Crackle Paint which gives you a wonderful aged look with a crackled surface.

With halp of glitter, shimmer, mica, etc., create interesting effects in your scrappande!

Many of these products do you buy in a spray bottle for easy application. Depending on the effect you want to achieve so works, among other things, with the distance to it, you should spray on.

Some practical tips:
1. Never shake a bottle of "up and down" but rather horizontally in circles. This is to avoid the formation of air bubbles in the vial. May mean that you do not get the desired effect.

2. Try always to spray some on a piece of paper before using the spray on your item. In this way you avoid surprises.

3. Sometimel the nozzle to the spray tank is blocked. Screw then the nozzle of and place in hot water, so normally this problem is solved.
